May 31- June 2, 2019

A weeklong intensive in art conservation during which selected HBCU students learn and tangibly explore various aspects of cultural heritage preservation with the guidance of several members of Yale’s art conservation staff.

Goals: To inspire and encourage students to pursue or otherwise become involved in the field of art conservation through practical workshops and lectures. To allow HBCU mentors to participate alongside students in order to facilitate their work with students on their respective campuses throughout the academic year.

Number of Participants: 15 students, 5 mentors

Funded by Kress Foundation.
