Fisk Museum Leadership Program 2020-2021

The Alliance of HBCU Museums and Galleries partnership with the Fisk Museum Leadership Program consisted of four modules to educate HBCU student participants on the functionality of museum operations in museum education, museum development, art conservation, and museum curation.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) – Conservation and Collections Management Modules- December 2020

Student participants partook in a two-week intensive virtual learning module on museum collections and management and art conservation from faculty at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Georgia O’Keeffe Museum- Museum Education Module- January 2021

Fellow HBCU student participants took part in a virtual learning experience with faculty from the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum staff and civic organizations to learn about museum community engagement and museum education.

Princeton University Art Museum- Curatorial Module- January 2021

Fellow HBCU students learned about museum curation in a weeklong virtual learning intensive through webinars on museum curation provided by faculty at the Princeton University Art Museum.

Fisk University- Development Module- June 2021

Students participated in a weeklong virtual learning intensive to learn about fundraising and development required to support museums through webinars led by museums faculty and other civic organizations.
